In the much anticipated first double header of the New Year for the 413 Elite’ as members of the American Basketball Association, the Elite took both wins with a final score of 139 to 131 versus the Bridgeport Kings, and 120 to 111 versus the Massachusetts Wolves. The first game, held at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. Ma on January 20, 2024, allowed fans to celebrate the team, the Republican Newspaper on their 200 years of service mark with special activities and giveaways.
In the first match, the 413 Elite led the Bridgeport Kings for the whole four quarters of play. The second game on January 21, 2024 was an away game less then 24hrs apart in Cape Cod, and the Wolves led the first 2 quarters of play. The Elite would take the lead in the second half, and wouldn’t look back for the rest of the game. Finishing the Massachusetts Wolves off for the second time this season, this time by a win margin of nine points. 413 Elite edged above their competitors in both games this past weekend to secure the double header victories.
The Springfield Stretching and Massage Therapy sponsored Players of these two Game were Springfield native, Charles “C-JACK” Jackson, who scored 27 points, snatched 2 steals, hit the boards with 10 rebounds and worked the court with 4 assists against Bridgeport Kings.
For the second game Windsor Connecticut native, Jerry “J-BUCKETS” Buchanon, scored 35 points, snatched 5 steals, hit the boards with 6 rebounds and worked the court with 6 assists against the Massachusetts Wolves.
413 Elite had a total of six scorers in double figures, and four players with Double Doubles for the first game. Robby Jones, who scored 24 points and dished out 10 assists, also grabbing 5 rebounds, followed by Reilly Miller, who scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, followed by Jerry Buchanon, who scored 13 points and pulled down 6 rebounds and 7 steals, followed by Chandler Jones, who scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, followed by Kamari Robinson, who scored 10 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in the Bridgeport Kings match.
413 Elite had a total of five scorers in double figures for the second game. Kevin McLaughlin, who scored 16 points and was a beast on the boards pulling down 14 rebounds, followed by Charles Jackson, who scored 14 points and pulled down 8 rebounds, followed by Robby Jones, who scored 13 points and was a magician on the court dishing out 12 assists, and Earl Hall who scored 10 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in the Massachusetts Wolves match.
With these wins the 413 Elite improve to 10 wins and 2 losses on the season making it the teams best start in franchise history. The 413 Elite is now ranked #13 in the country out of 120+ teams on the season.
