413 Elite Tops Massachusetts Wolves In “The Battle of Massachusetts” Game

In the much anticipated season opener for the 413 Elite’s second season as members of the American Basketball Association, the Elite took the win with a final score of 114 to 107 versus the Massachusetts Wolves. The game, held at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on October 28, 2023, allowed fans to celebrate the team, First Responders, the upcoming Halloween holiday and the conclusion of Italian Heritage Month with special activities and giveaways.

In this close match, the 413 Elite trailed behind the Massachusetts Wolves for the first three quarters, but edged above their competitors in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

The Springfield Stretching and Massage Therapy sponsored Player of the Game was rookie and Springfield native, Jeric “SOSA” Cichon, who scored 18 points, snatched seven steals, hit the boards with four rebounds and worked the court with three assists.

413 Elite had four scorers in double figures for the game. Jerry Buchanon, who scored 18 points, followed by Kamari Robinson, who scored 17 points, followed by Jonathan Bell, who scored 13 points, and Kevin McLaughlin who scored 9 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

The 413 Elite are looking forward to their next game on November 4, 2023 versus the Bridgeport Kings. The two teams met in competition twice in the 2022-2023 season and the 413 Elite took home the win on both occasions. The 413 Elite began the season on a high note and will take that energy to Bridgeport and beyond.
